With over 40 years of world-class security and crowd management services, Showsec’s global reputation precedes itself, earning the trust of organisations and business across the United Kingdom as event security specialists with a penchant for excellence.
Speaking with Business Focus Magazine, Showsec Co-CEO Simon Battersby; who has been at the helm of affairs since 2024, shed more light into the successes, multi-decade relationships, innovations and intricacies of providing crowd management services and event security for venues across the globe.
Business Focus Magazine agrees that for years, Showsec has built a brand reputation synonymous with events, ensuring that familiarity is not just about visibility but also the consistent level of service that the company offers across the industry. The conversation with Simon reiterated that Showsec’s iconic yellow uniform seen across various venues, ensured visibility for the organization whether through supporting event attendees or the venues themselves. Simon attested to striving for the best-in-class service and a personal, collaborative approach to how Showsec operated.
It is evident that venue partnerships are no stranger to the multi-decade relationships Showsec has also sustained over the years. BFM emphasized that the 30-year long anniversary celebrated between Showsec and the AO Arena in Manchester in July of 2025 was a demonstration of trust, collaboration and transparency instrumental in relationship building. Simon confirmed in the interview that the close collaboration was vital for the implementation of Martyn’s Law – the new UK Legislation which now requires publicly accessible locations and events to improve security preparedness against terrorist attacks.
BFM also noted that continuous staff training was integral to Showsec’s success. Having a dedicated training department that has delivered over 700 courses with more than 7,000 already completed in 2025 spoke to the company’s commitment to excellence. According to the conversation with Simon, the training modules and career development curriculum, including the Management Development Programme (MDP) offered by Showsec, creates a pathway for staff to upskill and go on to run venues for the company across the country. A route that BFM and Simon both agree, builds longevity, rewards loyalty, and improves retention.
In the opinion of BFM, decades of Showsec’s professionalism as an industry leader continues to win major businesses and events for the organisation across the UK. Simon highlighted recent engagements including the coronation of King Charles III in 2023 and the much-anticipated Oasis homecoming concert in 2025 as evidence of trust, businesses have built in Showsec as a professional crowd management and event security company.
Simon affirmed that 2025 was a great year for live music as Showsec remained active throughout the summer including at the massive Oasis’s hometown shows in Manchester which will forever be etched in the memories of everyone involved.
As a business, BFM corroborates through Simon that Showsec will continue to build on their tremendous track record in the UK while they continue to explore new international frontiers, including their recent advancement in the Middle East and Far East.
Simultaneously, both parties agreed that Showsec will continually look to improve standards within its business by optimizing the digital process within the organization to be more efficient and serve businesses better, a core focus for Simon and his team.
