Safety at Scale: Showsec Supports Fans Across Five Days at Live From Whythenshawe Park 2026

Operations

Over the last two weekends, Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park played host to 5 massive concerts with headline acts such as The Cure, Lewis Capaldi, Pulp, Courteneers and The Prodigy. Behind the scenes, Showsec teams were on hand to keep people safe and support the success of the festival.

Since launching in 2023, Live From Wythenshawe Park has grown rapidly, attracting major headline acts and drawing tens of thousands of music fans across its events, becoming one of Manchester’s most significant outdoor live music series. The scale of an event like this requires critical security planning, professional crowd management, and industry expertise, which Showsec delivered to the highest standards.

As the event’s designated security and crowd management specialists, Showsec worked alongside production company Engine No. 4 to deploy over 300 staff across the park grounds daily, including event safety stewards, operational supervisors, and experienced area managers to help maintain safety and easy access for all attendees.

Mark Thomas, Area Manager for Showsec said;

“Showsec supported Engine no. 4 across all 5 days of the festival with around 300 staff each day, as well as providing site security for the build and breaks and dark days between the 2 weekends. Over 160,000 fans attended despite the challenging weather conditions but our staff on the ground remained committed to ensuring a safe, enjoyable environment for everyone.

This commitment was only made possible by the dedication of all our staff and management team including Tom Rigby, Dan Perry, and Megan Johnson.”

Live from Wythenshawe Park 2026 once again demonstrated Showsec’s excellence and professionalism when managing crowds across large-scale events. This year’s event was one for the books, and we can’t wait to be back in Wythenshawe Park next year.
