Supporting Caribbean Carnivals Across the East Midlands

Operations

Showsec teams across the East Midlands have been busy keeping people safe at two of the region’s biggest Caribbean carnivals, supporting thousands of attendees across Leicester and Nottingham over two weekends this month.

Showsec teams were deployed across procession routes, managing traffic, providing information and directions to spectators, and helping maintain safety, ensuring attendees could enjoy the festivities in the two cities with confidence.

Jordan Mitchell-Messam, Operations Executive for the East Midlands, said:

“Working security at both Nottingham Carnival and Leicester Carnival really highlights our commitment to the professionalism, teamwork and public engagement necessary to create a safe environment where communities can come together to celebrate and enjoy cultural events.”

As a trusted presence at carnivals, marathons and local authority events nationwide, Showsec operations played a key role in supporting the safe delivery of these vibrant cultural celebrations.

Both carnivals showcased the history, culture and spirit of their local communities, attracting people of all ages and backgrounds. For Showsec staff, supporting these events provided an opportunity to play a key role in two important cultural celebrations, drawing on their expertise in event security, conflict management and public engagement.
