Carbon Reduction Plan

Purpose

The purpose of this Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP) is to outline Showsec’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, supporting sustainable business practices, and aligning with industry sustainability goals. This plan defines our approach to Net Zero by 2050, ensuring compliance with Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 06/21, and integrating sustainability into our event security and crowd management services.

This plan is intended to:
• Establish Showsec’s emission reduction targets and sustainability commitments.
• Provide a framework for reducing carbon emissions across operations, procurement, and event crowd management.
• Align with our ultimate parent company, Live Nation’s sustainability charter and wider industry best practices.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases (GHG) produced prior to implementing carbon reduction measures. Our baseline year is 2024, with the following emissions recorded:

Emission Scope Source Emissions (tCO₂e)
Scope 1 (Direct) Not applicable (no company-owned vehicles or fuel sources) 0
Scope 2 (Indirect Energy) Office electricity and gas consumption 35.64
Scope 3 (Other Indirect) Business travel, staff commuting, procurement 267.82
Total Emissions 303.46

Current Emissions Reporting (2025)

Showsec has reviewed 2025 emissions data to track progress against the 2024 baseline. The latest emissions are:

Emission Scope Source Emissions (tCO₂e)
Scope 1 (Direct) Not applicable (no company-owned vehicles or fuel sources) 0
Scope 2 (Indirect Energy) Office electricity and gas consumption 31.03
Scope 3 (Other Indirect) Business travel, staff commuting, procurement 269.89
Total Emissions 300.92

Overall emissions reduced by 0.8% against the 2024 baseline. Scope 2 emissions reduced by 12.9%, office energy use reduced by 12.5%, and mileage emissions reduced by 7.4%. Procurement remains the largest emissions hotspot and a priority area for further reduction.

Carbon Reduction Targets

To maintain progress towards Net Zero, Showsec has set the following interim reduction targets:

By 2026: Continue reducing business mileage emissions from the 2024 baseline through virtual meetings, optimised car mileage, public transport,
shared travel and local first deployment where feasible.
By 2030: Ensure that 100% of office electricity comes from renewable sources where procurement control exists.
By 2030: Align with Live Nation sustainability goals, supporting a 50% reduction in Scope 1 (if applicable) and Scope 2 GHG emissions.
By 2040: Reduce indirect emissions (Scope 3) by 50% through supplier engagement, reuse, repair, take-back arrangements and waste reduction.

We will measure progress by reviewing emissions data annually and updating this plan accordingly.

Carbon Reduction Measures

Showsec is implementing several strategies to reduce carbon emissions, including:

Reducing Business Travel: Prioritising virtual meetings over travel (flights and optimising car mileage usage), using public transport where possible.
Encouraging Sustainable Commuting: Promoting carpooling and public transport for event operations.
Energy Efficiency in Offices: Switching to LED lighting, using energy-efficient equipment, and reducing electricity consumption.
Sustainable Procurement: Engaging with suppliers who align with Net Zero objectives, reducing unnecessary procurement and prioritising reuse, repair, durability and take-back routes.
Waste Reduction: Implementing recycling programs at offices and limiting single-use materials.
Supporting Live Events Sustainability: Collaborating with Live Nation to promote sustainability practices at events and venues.

Emissions Reporting

Showsec will update and publish emissions data annually in accordance with government guidelines. Our next emissions report will be published in January 2027.
