Showsec Repeat Success at The Royal Highland Show
Following Showsec’s successful involvement with the Royal Highland Show in 2017, which led to a three-year contract to provide services for the event, the Company recently provided security and crowd management services for The Royal Highland Show for the second time.
Hosted at the Royal Highland Centre just outside Edinburgh, the four-day event ran from Thursday 20th June to Sunday 23rd June. A wide range of entertainment, educational and shopping opportunities were on offer, from traditional food to top-of-the-range farming equipment. The event is considered one of the biggest and best events in the UK when it comes to celebrating the best of farming, food and rural life. With over 1000 trade exhibitions and 2130 livestock competitors, it was a very busy weekend for the Showsec team.
Holding the contract for such a prestigious event is an important step for Showsec, as they continue to build a stronger presence at events and venues across Scotland, as Gary McGuire, Area Manager for Scotland Central explains:
“This being the first of a three-year contract between Showsec and the Royal Highland Show, we couldn’t have asked for a better start to our growing relationship, with greater staff numbers and more working hours than ever before. All staff who made the trip to Ingliston deserve excellent praise for all their hard work put in over 4 days spent under a beaming Scottish sun.
“An extensive debrief process has already begun to continue to improve the public safety operation at the show for the years to come.
“This continues to be a very exciting time for Showsec in Scotland’s central belt, as we grow larger at the Royal Highland Show, in the Royal Highland Centre, at the upcoming Rewind festival in Perth and various other new ventures on the horizon.”
