Showsec Partner in Warrington Testing and Vaccination Centres
Showsec is proud to be involved in the roll out of Covid vaccinations and testing at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, where the company’s usual service is related to Rugby League matches at the Warrington Wolves home ground.
Showsec is delivering a 24/7 security coverage at the stadium and provide access control and customer service for visitors arriving and departing both the testing and vaccination centres, which are located in separate parts of the stadium.
The venue is home to one of four local vaccination centres run by local surgeries and is vaccinating around 1000 patients a day, having already vaccinated around 15,000 between December and February**. Staff and volunteers at the centre have received praise following a visit by a local Warrington MP and the Borough Council leader.
Dr Taylor of Fearnhead Cross Medical Centre recently posted a video walkthrough of a patient’s journey to vaccination which can be seen here.
The testing centre, run by Warrington Borough Council, opened on the 11th January and is one of two local asymptomatic community testing sites for people who are not displaying coronavirus symptoms. It is open six days a week and has the capacity for hundreds of lateral flow tests per day.
Marc Weall, Stadium Manager said, “It’s an honour for Warrington Wolves here at the Halliwell Jones Stadium to have been selected to help in this pandemic. Showsec is our partner at the venue for all home games and we are glad to also be working with them for this important event.”
Steve Roberts, Showsec’s Liverpool Area Manager, told us, “As you can imagine, the site is very busy in its two functions. A variety of processes and regulations are in place to ensure the safety of staff and visitors and our staff have adapted well to these. “
“Showsec is proud to be involved in these key projects, supporting the roll out of testing and vaccinations for the local area as part of the national effort in the fight against Covid-19”
