More Than a Decade at the Home of British Motorsport

Showsec has been part of the security operation at Silverstone Circuit since 2015, supporting major events including the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, MotoGP and Silverstone Festival.

These events attract hundreds of thousands of visitors and transform the circuit into far more than a race venue. Alongside the on-track action, there are extensive hospitality areas, sponsor activations, entertainment zones, VIP areas and operational compounds, all requiring dedicated security and crowd management support.

For the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, Showsec deploys more than 700 security and stewarding professionals per day, helping manage crowds of up to 180,000 spectators on race day. Our teams operate across public entrances, hospitality facilities, the Formula 1 Paddock, fan zones, track protection positions and incident response teams.

Operating at Silverstone requires detailed planning and close coordination with the venue, event organisers, emergency services and key stakeholders. With activity taking place across a vast site and multiple event days, maintaining consistent standards, effective communications and real-time operational oversight is critical to delivering a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors.

Our involvement extends beyond event delivery. Showsec also provides security consultancy and planning support to Silverstone throughout the summer. Working alongside the venue team, we help develop security strategies, operational plans and delivery frameworks for some of the UK’s most high-profile sporting events.
