Showsec has provided security and stewarding services at P&J Live since the venue opened in 2019. Our relationship with the site goes back even further, having supported its predecessor, the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC), since 2010.

As Scotland’s largest event venue, P&J Live hosts a diverse programme of concerts, sporting events, exhibitions, conferences, awards dinners and corporate events. Over the years, the venue has welcomed major acts such as Lewis Capaldi and Gerry Cinnamon, alongside events including BBC Sports Personality of the Year and Offshore Europe.

Showsec delivers security, stewarding and crowd management services across the entire campus. With an arena capacity of up to 15,000 and multiple halls, conference spaces and hospitality areas operating simultaneously, no two events are the same.

Our teams manage ingress and egress, crowd management, searching, access control, customer service and all SIA-licensable activities. Operations are coordinated from the venue control room, with managers and supervisors working closely with venue staff throughout each event.

One of the strengths of P&J Live is its flexibility, and our operation is built to match. It’s not uncommon for multiple events to take place across the campus at the same time. On one event day alone, our teams managed a sold-out Bill Bailey show for more than 9,000 guests, a You Me At Six concert for 3,200 attendees and a 450-person dinner event, all running simultaneously across different parts of the venue.

Alongside event delivery, Showsec works closely with the venue team to plan upcoming events, understand audience profiles, assess security requirements and prepare staffing plans. This long-standing relationship allows us to provide advice and support throughout the planning process, as well as on event day.

Training also plays an important role in maintaining standards. Working with Legends Global, Showsec helped develop a venue-specific eLearning programme to ensure staff understand the venue, its procedures and customer service expectations before arriving on site.
