Around 120 members of Showsec’s Manchester team returned to the iconic Castlefield Bowl to support the highly anticipated England v Argentina clash on Wednesday. Working alongside Beyond 90, Showsec provided security services for 4TheFans, Europe’s largest World Cup fan park, ensuring the event ran smoothly and safely.

A regular fixture on Manchester’s event calendar, Castlefield Bowl is an 8,000-capacity amphitheatre known for hosting events ranging from live music and festivals to fan viewings. Its distinctive layout, combining an outdoor amphitheatre with an indoor event space, required a tailored crowd management strategy to ensure the safe movement of attendees throughout the unique venue.

Wednesday night marked a welcome return for Showsec, supporting 4TheFans for the first time since 2018, and once again delivering security at Manchester’s iconic Castlefield Bowl. Building on previous deployments at the venue, the team worked closely with event organisers to support a refreshed event layout, helping to create an enjoyable and memorable experience for thousands of supporters.

The team played a key role in welcoming thousands of supporters to the screening, managing ingress and egress, and keeping people safe from arrival through to the final whistle.

“It was great to return to Castlefield Bowl. It’s a fantastic venue in the heart of the city that plays host to a wide range of events throughout the year. We deployed around 120 staff on match day and also maintained a presence throughout the build and break process.

Beyond 90 is a great client to work with. They did a fantastic job of transforming the space into a superb screening venue in such a short timeframe, and it was fantastic to be part of delivering such a memorable experience for supporters in such a great venue.”

Bringing thousands of supporters together in a safe and welcoming environment, this event marked a successful return to Castlefield Bowl for Showsec, after several years. Through close collaboration with Beyond 90, and the professionalism of the team on site, fans were able to enjoy an unforgettable match-day experience, despite the result!
