For the fourteenth time, Showsec returned to one of the UK’s biggest summer festivals, Tramlines, and welcomed thousands of music fans to Sheffield’s Hillsborough Park. The event attracted around 40,000 attendees each day and featured a packed programme of live music, entertainment, food and comedy, with Showsec on hand to support every element.

As the festival’s security and crowd management provider, Showsec deployed teams across the site to support the safe running of the event. Our staff were responsible for customer entry and search procedures, static guarding, and the stage pit throughout the weekend.

Working closely with organisers and stakeholders, our experienced teams helped ensure festivalgoers could enjoy the event safely, maintaining a welcoming environment and giving people the confidence to fully enjoy the weekend’s live music. We have supported Tramlines since 2012, supplying crowd management and security services, and have enjoyed watching the festival grow throughout the years.

This year, for the first time, Showsec’s operations were led by Rhys Renwick, Operations Executive for Leeds. Speaking about his experience, he said:

“It was great to return to Hillsborough Park this year, this time as Head of Security. I’m extremely proud to have reached this milestone in my career.

Seeing months of planning come together and knowing our team played a key role in keeping thousands of people safe made it incredibly rewarding.”

For many Showsec staff, Tramlines is one of their summer highlights, providing an opportunity to demonstrate the professionalism, teamwork and dedication that forms the backbone of successful crowd management.

As another memorable festival comes to a close, we at Showsec are proud that our staff have once again worked diligently to keep the spotlight firmly on the guest experience, ensuring visitors had the opportunity to enjoy everything Tramlines 2026 had to offer safely.
