Two months after the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, over 600 Showsec staff members returned to Silverstone last weekend to provide security operations for the MotoGP. The weekend saw motorcycle racing fans gather in Towcester for another action-packed event.

Remaining aware of fluctuating crowd movements, changing weather patterns and the demands of a packed event schedule requires careful planning and teams that are vigilant and responsive. This is why, even before last month’s British Grand Prix, Showsec’s operations were already behind the scenes planning for 100,000 fans to be welcomed to the track for MotoGP.

Showsec has provided security operations for Silverstone since 2015, and it marks a seasonal highlight for a lot of our staff. Their familiarity with the venue ensures our operations run smoothly and safely across the summer period.

Showsec operations collaborated with event partners under the direction of Daniel Perry, who served as Head of Security for Silverstone for both MotoGP and the British Grand Prix in July. Reflecting on the experience, Dan had this to say:
