Operations Supervisor, Cardiff

Part of the area office Operations team, the post holder is the initial point of contact for all operational matters. Reporting to the Area Manager they will work with clients on a daily basis with the purpose of ensuring the delivery of a quality product for every event, including the management of staff in compliance with company protocols, legislation and agreed processes.

What you will be doing

  • Be competent in the use of the Company IT systems including the bespoke database Smartg8, ensuring all events are accurately recorded on the booking module and changes made in a timely manner when required
  • Ensure the high quality delivery of operations, attending and managing events efficiently in consultation with your Area Manager
  • Be responsible to clients and their representatives which fall under your agreed remit, meeting with them on a regular basis to address operational matters including pre and post event reviews
  • Create client facing documentation including financial quotations for the provision of staff whilst keeping the Area Manager informed
  • Monitor the booking of staff for all events, identifying new staff and conducting new venue inductions prior to first shifts where required
  • Provide accurate and engaging briefings and debriefings as well as ongoing mentoring for the casual workforce
  • Complete accurate and timely pre and post event documentation including completion of incident reports
  • Respond to internal and external communications in a timely manner, including periods outside usual working hours when required and/or arranging the appropriate cover
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures relating to the role, including laws and regulatory influences ensuring tasks are carried out in a safe, efficient manner
  • Be responsible for ensuring staffing standards are maintained in terms of conduct and performance as well as health, safety and welfare
  • Effectively manage your agreed split of operational and administrative hours and workload in consultation with your Area manager
  • Work in conjunction with the Training Department to motivate, identify and develop the casual workforce in line with Company objectives
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times, ensuring you effectively communicate at all levels whilst maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality
  • Any other duties commensurate with the post

What we need from you

  • Right to Work in the UK**
  • SIA License – Door Supervisor**
  • Maths GCSE or equivalent (C or above)**
  • English GCSE or equivalent (C or above)**
  • Competent understanding of Microsoft Platforms; Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Proficient in written and oral communication skills
  • Experience of client management & operational excellence

  • Higher level education i.e. A Level, Diploma, Degree
  • IOSH Managing Safely
