Marketing & Commercial Development Manager

Showsec is looking for a Marketing & Commercial Development Manager to lead the organisation’s marketing, communications and commercial development activity, ensuring the brand is effectively positioned to support growth, bid success, new markets and new services. The role is outward looking, commercially focused and accountable for aligning marketing activity with business objectives.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and deliver the marketing, communications and commercial development strategy, aligned to the business plan objectives.
  • Develop and deliver marketing strategies, campaigns and assets to support entry into new regions and the launch of new service offerings, in line with agreed business objectives.
  • Establish, manage, and report on departmental KPIs and budgets, and develop the annual departmental plan.
  • Provide line management, leadership, and development for the Marketing and Commercial Development team.
  • Maintain professional knowledge by keeping abreast of developments in marketing and communications, and the live events industry.
  • Own bid strategy, messaging and response quality standards.
  • Oversee bid writing activity and review submissions prior to submission.
  • Ensure tender resource libraries, case studies and standard responses remain current.
  • Support sales enquiries and ensure effective follow up processes are in place.
  • Monitoring of tender opportunities through our tender notification platforms.
  • Lead brand development and ensure consistent application across all channels. Report on brand reputation.
  • Oversee website strategy, content direction and new website development projects.
  • Develop and lead campaigns for new service offerings.
  • Lead external PR, industry awards strategy and media copy.
  • Represent the organisation externally at exhibitions, sponsorships and industry events.
  • Drive improvements to the company’s digital media content and the quality of content. Oversee and implement guidelines as to communications content.
  • Oversee complaints handling communications and reputational management.
  • Development of the CRM system and to ensure marketing and sales alignment as well as post roll-out training for users. Ensure CRM data quality and reporting support commercial insight.
  • Report on marketing performance, sales pipeline and commercial impact to senior leadership.
  • External and internal stakeholder management, including sourcing and managing relationships with agencies and contractors such as graphic designers, video producers and website developers.
  • Engage the casual workforce through a programme of proactive communication covering key information, news and developments within the company and wider industry.

What we need from you

  • Right to Work in the UK**
  • Proven experience in marketing leadership with strong commercial awareness.
  • Experience supporting bids, tenders or business development activity.
  • Strong copywriting and messaging skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to lead delivery.
  • Confident stakeholder manager across operational and commercial teams.
