In Loving Memory of Gerry Slater

It is with deep sadness that we have learned of the passing of Gerry Slater.

Gerry was a co-founder of Showsec with Mick Upton and was a key part of building Showsec throughout the eighties and nineties. Originally part of Artist Services Ltd where Gerry managed several international acts, he decided to join Mick in the establishment of Showsec to service the needs of a growing live music industry and particularly that of the need for a professional approach to Crowd Management. He was instrumental in the growth of Showsec as business, establishing it as a market leader in its field.

Gerry was a kind and thoughtful man, who was always was keen to help clients and staff alike. He was very much a people person and was the first to jump in and get involved at shows, wanting to work alongside his colleagues as part of a team. This was always important to him, as he very much enjoyed the camaraderie of life at Showsec.

His approachable nature, enthusiasm and sense of humour earned him many friends, and he was respected across the industry.

For those that had the privilege to work for and with him, we owe him so much, helping many with a start in this fantastic industry.

He will be sadly missed, and we extend our condolences to his loving family
