Showsec aims to utilise staff at large scale events and festivals that have been recruited and trained by the company and not external providers.  To this end, we are currently recruiting for staff for us to train in readiness to work in Scotland over the summer of 2012.
 
You will form an essential part of the event safety management team, acting as the eyes and ears of the Event Safety Manager.  You will provide the highest levels of customer care and you will ensure the absolute care, comfort and well being of all festival goers.
 
You must be available to work between 6th and 8th July in Kinross and 2nd and 5th August in Inverness.  Transport will be available from various locations, including Edinburgh and Glasgow.
 
Training is online and can be completed at your own pace and in your own time.  You must have access to the internet in order to complete the training.
 
You may also then be given the opportunity to work at other festivals throughout the UK in 2012 and once the summer is over you will not be removed from our books!  You will be kept on for another 12 months ready to work at any other large events that we have in 2013.

You may also then be given the opportunity to work at other festivals throughout the UK in 2012 including the London Live events in early August.  And once the summer is over you will not be removed from our books!  You will be kept on for another 12 months ready to work at any other large events that we have in 2013.

As Area Manager, you will be responsible for the sales and operations aspects of your area, closely and effectively managing contracts with clients whilst generating new sales opportunities wherever possible.  Reporting to a Regional Manager, you will ensure the highest levels of operations quality are consistently maintained and ensure effective communication between all stakeholders, whilst managing your budget effectively and achieving given targets.

 

You will be enthusiastic, pro-active and solution driven, and will preferably have demonstrable staff management skills and a commitment to strong customer support. You must have experience of event or security management, including operational experience of venues, events or festivals in a front line position, and knowledge of client and contract management is essential. 

 

You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and must also possess excellent IT skills.

 

You must hold a current SIA licence and have the ability to travel and stay overnight regularly.

2012 is an exciting year for the events industry. Showsec have been chosen to provide security, crowd management and stewarding to ensure the welfare and safety of the site visitors at large scale music events being held in London during July and August 2012 with capacities of up to 88,000 people.

2  Site Search and Security Coordinators are now required to work alongside the Search and Security Manager taking responsibilty for the Search aspect of security at each individual venue.

Salary 25k pro rata - 3 month contract - start asap.

Based London (events are at Hyde Park and Victoria Park)

Required skills and experience
Experience in coordination of large teams across multiple areas
Experience working as part of a multi leveled operation/event
ability to stand back and oversee an operation to identify improvements and changes
Confidence to implement changes
Experience in working in high pressured security environment (preferably large scale events)
Experience in searching persons and bags
Experience in operating Xray bag scanners / Metal Archways / search wands (not essential as Full training will be given)
Eye for detail
Ability to work under pressure and show confidence in high pressured situations
Experience in a customer facing environment /roles
ability to work long hours
ability to motivate yourself and others

A 5 year checkable work history will be required as well as a CRB check.

You must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence.
