Showsec has been awarded a two rolling year contract to deliver stewarding and security services across all Leeds City Council venues and events, including the annual Party and Opera in the Park at Temple Newsam, Bonfire celebrations at Roundhay Park and all council-owned venues including Leeds Town Hall and The Carriageworks Theatre.Back

SHOWSEC LAUNCH RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN FOR 2012

SHOWSEC SUPPORTS FOOTBALL SAFETY OFFICERS ASSOCIATION
The Football Safety Officers Association (FSOA) announced a five year deal with Showsec becoming the Official Main Partner at its Spring Conference, as of March 1st, 2012.
The Football Safety Officers Association was formed almost twenty years ago to provide a positive environment for safety officers to share good practice and develop safety standards within football stadia.
The Association achieves this by promulgating best safety and crowd management practices, enhancing the role of security personnel, stewards, supervisors and management and continually developing the expertise of safety officers.

SHOWSEC STEWARD WINS CAPITAL FM ARENA NOTTINGHAM’S ‘EXTRA MILE AWARD’
A Showsec steward has been awarded Capital FM Arena Nottingham’s ‘Extra Mile Award’ for displaying exceptional customer service skills whilst working at the venue.
Capital FM Arena chose Showsec’s Joseph Bradley for the award, which is given out by the venue to its employees, after he chased a coach down a nearby road when it had left without an elderly couple.
The award came with a prize of two free tickets to any concert at the arena, which Joseph donated to two terminally ill children from The Queens Medical Centre. They were thrilled to be invited to see JLS perform from a hospitality suite provided by the venue.

SHOWSEC IN BELFAST AMIDST GLAMOUR OF 2011 MTV EMA
Showsec provided a 15 strong management consultancy team to oversee all elements of the complex security operations surrounding the 2011 MTV EMA Belfast, 6th Nov, 2011.
The glittering awards show will be seen by more than 600 million around the world through the MTV global TV network. Eleven live performances and a host of international stars took pride of place in Belfast’s Odyssey Arena with performers including Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber.
Showsec implemented a detailed security plan months prior to the awards working with the show producers, the local venues, Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and Belfast City Council to ensure the safe and successful delivery of the highly profiled, VIP MTV EMA.

SHOWSEC FESTIVAL SECURITY FOR ROCKNESS
Showsec has extended its contract to supply festival security services for the entire Rockness Festival 10th-12th June, 2011. After winning the 2011 NME Awards for Best Small Festival, this year’s Rockness line-up features Kasabian, The Chemical Brothers and Paolo Nutini. Showsec area manager, Scott Anderson is delighted to have extended relations in its fifth year working with Rockness festival organisers. Event security services plans are already being formulated to ensure the safety and enjoyment of 30,000 festival goers attending this massive Scottish festival. SHOWSEC RETURNS TO TRAFALGAR SQUARE FOR MALENITSA
Showsec secured the whole of London’s Trafalgar Square on the 6th March, ensuring the safe ingress and egress of 100,000 Russians as they celebrated Maslenitsa. Showsec’s security operation was managed by senior operations executive Dayo Adelugba, who oversaw all 120 SIA security personnel across the high profile site. Showsec celebrates a decade of award wins after being voted Favourite Security and Crowd Management Company at the TPi Awards on 7th February. RISING TALENT WITH SHOWSEC AT MILITARY TOURNAMENT
Showsec’s London Office successfully implemented a complex event security operation at Earls Court for the British Military Tournament. VIP Royal guests and senior military officials were among 56,000 visitors attending the return of Britain’s oldest military tattoo, on December 4th and 5th, at Earls Court. Over 500 troops and 145 horses appeared in two performances per day, featuring the ever-popular field gun run, massed bands and battle re-enactments. SHOWSEC WEAVE THEIR MAGIC IN MADRID
Showsec’s management consultancy team recently returned from yet another successful engagement with MTV for the 2010 Europe Music Awards. Simon Battersby managed the complex security plan in Madrid, agreed by the National and Municipal police. Showsec used a team of 11 managers from the UK, who were each responsible for different areas of the EMA activities, liaising with MTV department heads and overseeing the local security. SHOWSEC SECURES FIRST UK PAPAL STATE VISIT
Showsec was appointed to undertake the robust multifaceted event security operation of securing Pope Benedict XVI and his large entourage during the UK Papal visit to Birmingham’s Cofton Park on 19th September 2010. Showsec Director Simon Battersby oversaw a team of 600 SIA event security professionals who maintained the serene atmosphere of the audience, whilst implementing the complexities of such a high profile security operation. The event was a particular landmark for Showsec’s Birmingham office, which was restructured earlier this year and contributed key staff to the operation.
